Rape suspect arrested after victim asks for help on food delivery app: New York prosecutors

A Bronx man lured women to his apartment where he raped and assaulted them three times in the past month – until a quick-witted victim attached a note to a food delivery app begging the restaurant to send the cops, prosecutors said Monday.

Kemoy Royal, 32, was charged in an indictment with 23 counts of predatory sexual assault, rape and criminal sexual act, among other crimes, during the sickening violence.

According to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, during the first attack on June 13, Royal, who had met a 27-year-old woman on a dating app and chatted with her for a few days, invited her to his apartment in ‘Eastchester, where he allegedly raped and assaulted her.

The next day, Royal approached a 26-year-old woman on the street around 7 p.m., claiming he knew a friend of hers, prosecutors said. He then persuaded the woman to come back to his flat – and when she arrived he allegedly refused to let her go and threatened to kill her.

He attempted to force the woman to perform sexual acts on him, bit her in the chest and strangled her before letting her go about six hours after they first met, prosecutors said.

The third attack took place on June 18, when he met a 24-year-old woman he had been talking to on a dating app for a few months, prosecutors said. Royal and the woman went to his apartment around 10.30pm when the encounter turned violent, with Royal claiming he would kill the woman if she tried to leave, prosecutors charged.

He then allegedly strangled, raped and sexually assaulted her for hours, including once at knifepoint.

When the woman tried to call the police, Royal took her mobile phone from her – only to return it at dawn the next day after the victim – with a desperate plan in mind – suggested she order food.

The woman ordered an Irish breakfast sandwich and a cheeseburger from the Chipper Truck Cafe in Yonkers around 5 a.m. with a hastily written note riddled with spelling mistakes: ‘Please call the police , he will call me when you come with the cones, please don’t. obvious”, News 12 Westchester reported.

Despite the mistakes, the restaurant understood and called the police, who rushed to Royal’s apartment, freed the woman and arrested the suspect.

Royal is being held at Rikers Island pending his next court appearance, according to city records.
