Food delivery cyclist injured in two-car crash on Cork City street as gardai and ambulance rush to scene

A cyclist was injured after being run over between two cars in Cork City on Monday evening March 28.

At around 7.15pm, the male Deliveroo rider was involved in the crash on Grand Parade in the city center which left him hospitalized.

Cork Beo understands that the cyclist’s bike was caught between a car in front of him and a jeep starting behind him.

An ambulance and gardai rushed to Grand Parade where the injured man was examined by paramedics. He was taken to hospital following the crash and Gardai confirmed he suffered “non-life threatening injuries”.
In a statement released on Monday evening, Gardaí said: “Gardaí is currently at the scene of a road accident involving a bicycle and a car which occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Monday March 28, 2022, in the Grand Parade area. in Cork.

“The cyclist was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other human injuries were reported.

“The road is expected to fully reopen shortly.”
